Step 1 - measure the cranial circumference
Using a measuring tape, measure the largest circumference of the patient’s head, which includes the most prominent part at the back (occipital) and just above the eyebrows (supraorbital ridges).
Step 2 - choose the correct headband stripe
Based on the measured head circumference, select either headband 1 or 2 according to the table below. If the desired size is not available you can request a special headband size.
Code | Size | Head circumference |
531020052 | Headband stripe 1 | 16 1/2 - 21 5/8 in |
531020053 | Headband stripe 2 | 19 5/8 - 24 3/4 in |
TIP - Most adults will need Headband stripe 2
Step 3 - slide the headband through the sensor latches
Step 4 - attach the turnbuckle on the headband stripe
Secure the headband by snapping the turnbuckle into one end of the strap, as shown in the figure below.
Step 5 - adjust rough headband size
Choose which snap-on button to use according to the measured circumference and sizes from table bellow. Pull the end of the band, place the snap-on at the appropriate size, and press onto the desired one until you hear a click.
