2.1 system description

The B4C System contains four major components that come with the brain4care subscription. They are: a) the sensor kit that captures the intracranial pressure pulse (available in models BcSs-PICNIW-1000 and BcSs-PICNIW-2000, with optional receiver model BcAc-DG-1000); b) the mobile App that serves as a communication bridge between sensor and portal and also serves as a monitor for real-time visualization of the surrogate ICP pulse morphology; c) the portal that manages user authentication, authorization and report viewing, and d) the data analysis system that processes the captured surrogate ICP waveform.

The noninvasive sensor (BcSs-PICNIW-1000 or BcSs-PICNIW-2000) monitors intracranial pressure waveform and transmits the information to the BcAc-DG-1000 module and/or brain4care mobile app using Bluetooth technology. The BcAc-DG-1000 dongle is a receiver that connects onto the invasive pressure input (APB) of a multiparameter monitor and shows the ICP pulse morphology in the monitor. The brain4care app is mobile app for tablets or smartphones and bridges the BcSs-PICNIW-1000 sensor’s waveform with the cloud system and receives a generated report.
